Walton Employees Earn Specialized Brain Injury Certification

Augusta, GA—Six employees of Walton Rehabilitation Health System recently passed the Certified Brain Injury Specialist exam offered by the Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists and the Brain Injury Association of America.

They are: Andrea Albright, DPT, Physical Therapist; Laura Ferguson, Occupational Therapy Assistant; Jeanette Lewis, CNA, Resident Associate; Amanda McKie, Occupational Therapist; Tamiko Scott, CRRN, Registered Nurse; and Victoria Brinson, Occupational Therapy Assistant.

CBIS is a voluntary, national certification program that establishes best practices for the training of health care professionals working with individuals with brain injury. Certification as a Brain Injury Specialist provides recognition of advanced training and work experience in brain injury services, commitment to continuing education, and dedication to providing improved quality of care for persons with brain injuries.

Walton is the first provider in the state of Georgia to offer a full continuum of services for brain injury rehabilitation.
