Michael Pope Named Chair of Walton Foundation Board of Directors
Augusta, GA—Michael Pope has been named Chair of the Board of Directors for the Walton Foundation for Independence. He succeeds Jim Thrash, who has chaired the organization since 2008.
As board chair, Pope will oversee the implementation of the Foundation’s strategic plan and help raise community awareness for the Walton Foundation for Independence and Walton Rehabilitation Health System.
Pope has served on the Foundation board since 1998 and previously held the position of Vice Chair. He is Vice President of CSRA Testing and Engineering and is also a member of the North Augusta Sertoma Club, the Augusta Golf Association and Grace United Methodist Church. He and his wife, Pam, and son, Evan, live in North Augusta, SC.
Walton Foundation for Independence was organized in 1998 as the fund-raising arm of the not-for-profit Walton Rehabilitation Health System. Its mission is to help rebuild lives and restore hope and independence for people with disabilities by inspiring community philanthropy for Walton Rehabilitation Health System.
