Walton Employees Earn Specialized Brain Injury Certification

Augusta, GA—Nine employees of Walton Rehabilitation Health System recently passed the Certified Brain Injury Specialist exam offered by the Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists and the Brain Injury Association of America.

     They are: Lindsay Chambers, physical therapist; Margaret Blagg, physical therapist; Nikki New, speech/language pathologist; Pat Stanfield, nurse; Rebekah Gillespie, physical therapist; CJ Reimche, physical therapist; Jean Burnette, occupational therapist, Jennifer Litchfield, program manager, Walton West; and Cynthia Green, resident associate, Harison Heights.  
 
     CBIS is a voluntary, national certification program that establishes best practices for the training of health care professionals working with individuals with brain injury. Certification as a Brain Injury Specialist provides recognition of advanced training and work experience in brain injury services, commitment to continuing education, and dedication to providing improved quality of care for persons with brain injuries.
