Walton Rehabilitation Health System Hosts National NDT Course
Augusta, GA—Physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists are invited to attend the NDT/Bobath Certificate Course in the Management and Treatment of Adults with Hemiplegia, hosted by Walton Rehabilitation Health System.
The three-week course is led by Monica Diamond, MS, PT, NDTA Coordinator-Instructor, and focuses on teaching the fundamentals of Neuro-Developmental Treatment, an advanced therapeutic approach that aids patients with neurological challenges due to stroke, brain injury and other conditions who have difficulty controlling movement. The NDT approach helps these patients become as independent as possible.
Therapists attending the course benefit from movement analysis and facilitation labs, supervised patient treatment, daily reading assignments and written assignments. Upon successful completion of the course, participants may submit an application to the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association to become NDT-certified for a period of three years.
The course is November 2 to 20, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Walton Rehabilitation Health System, 1355 Independence Dr., Augusta. For more information on course details and how to apply, call Monica Diamond at 414-421-8426, email diamondpt@aol.com or visit www.diamondpt.info.
