  • Congestion
  • Runny & watery eyes
  • Facial pain
  • Weather-related symptoms

When to seek treatment of migraines

When you should seek treatment depends on how well you tolerate the pain and how much it interferes with your daily life. If you experience migraine headaches one time a month or fewer and your day-to-day activities are not affected, you probably do not need to seek treatment. However, if they become more frequent or painful, you may want to consider seeing a physician. Taking over-the-counter medications more than once or twice a week is another signal for assistance. Excessive use of such products may actually worsen your headaches in a phenomenon known as "rebound" headaches.
