The annual Walton Foundation Golf Classic is an Augusta tradition in the fall of the year. Named after Phil S. Harison, Chairman of the Walton Foundation Board 1998-2007, the annual tournament pairs golfers from all over the community who come together to support the mission of the Walton Continuum of Care. Up to 35 teams enjoy a day of unprecedented golf at beautiful West Lake Country Club in Columbia County, GA, lunch and an Awards Banquet at the end of the day. In addition to fun on the course and a goody bag filled with gifts, every golfer receives the signature Walton Classic player gift, a pair of top of the line golf shoes. Winners receive beautiful gifts of crystal etched with the name of the tournament, date and place. Opportunities abound for sponsorships, in kind donations and ways to help underwrite the cost of the tournament. Hole sponsors are encouraged to set up on their holes for a day of fun, sharing business information and treats with the players.

This fund-raiser benefits programs and services at Walton Rehabilitation Health System.

Each year, Walton Foundation holds an Adaptive Golf Challenge. This one of a kind golf event, supported by the National Alliance for Accessible Golf and the USGA, gives people with acquired disabilities the unique opportunity to participate in an organized golf tournament. Each team consists of three able-bodied players and one player with an acquired disability. All players with acquired disabilities play free. The event benefits Camp To Be Independent and Walton Foundation's monthly golf clinics. Most importantly, all players learn from, cheer for, and accept one another!

Seventh Annual Undercover Artists Show

Best of Augusta's "Best Fundraising Event of 2011"

April 18, 2013
New location this year - Julian Smith Casino
Augusta, Georgia

For information or to register, you may also contact the Foundation office at (706) 826-5809 or alsalley@wrh.org

The Seventh Annual Undercover Artists Show will be held at Julian Smith Casino on April 18th. Artwork from over 100 well known artists, community leaders and local celebrities will be auctioned at a tented event. Guests will enjoy delicious catered creations by Jennifer Shuford and music by Daddy Grace and The Henry's.

The fun bidding will begin at 7 pm with the names of the artists "undercover" or covered by a piece of tape. During the evening, the names will be unveiled for even more bidding and participants will be able to truly experience the notion that "art is in the eye of the beholder."

All proceeds from the Undercover Artists Show will benefit Walton Foundation's Camp To Be Independent, a five day spend the night camp for children, ages 8-21, with an acquired traumatic brain injury. Camp TBI is held every July in Rutledge, Georgia at Camp Twin Lakes, benefitting as many as 50 campers, at no cost to their families.

The event was designed to promote the Georgia Artists with Disabilities Juried Art Show on display at Walton Rehabilitation Hospital every April.  This exhibit shows that having a disability does not have to limit your ability, and all proceeds from this exhibit go directly to the artists.  The show is sponsored by the Pilot Club of Metro Atlanta.
