2. Licensed physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech-language pathologist, registered nurse, or psychologist in the state of Georgia .
3. Five years of management experience. Experience with rehabilitation services, contract relations, and referral management.
4. Requires a high level of interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, gain cooperation, manage employees, and exhibit effective customer service skills.
5. Requires a high degree of analytical ability to manage multiple services, make decisions and allow for ingenuity, initiative and good judgment.
6. Requires computer skills for word processing, spreadsheets, database, publisher, and graphics. |

Walton Rehabilitation Health System is seeking a Therapy Director
Summary:
Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the overall
Management of the therapy services and assures consistent delivery of high quality therapy care. As an advanced practitioner with expertise in rehabilitation, contributes to the rehabilitation field and to continuous improvement of patient care through involvement in clinical support, marketing, community awareness, education, research, organizational support and professional development. Serves as the corporate subject matter expert in therapy and keeps up with advances in rehabilitation and patient care, state of the art technology and equipment, government regulations, health insurance changes, and financing options. Following policies set by corporate management, accrediting institutions, or governing authorities, plans coordinates and conducts clinical services in for all inpatient and out-patient clinics. Responsible for planning and coordinating program activities, program evaluation, development of related policies and procedures, quality assurance, patient services, public relations activities, research, and budget planning and accounting. Directs the recruitment, hiring, and training of personnel. Responsible for fiscal operations including budget planning and accounting.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the direction and coordination of the operational, financial clinical administration and personnel activities of the inpatient and outpatient departments to include: Therapy, Communications Disorders, Psychology, Personal Care Services and Wellness programs.
Maintains a working knowledge of regional demographics including knowledge of service provisions, voids and needs of the therapy populations. Maintains expertise in state of the art treatment and equipment, clinical research and education.
Implements performance improvement and quality initiatives to exceed expectations or benchmarks for clinical services.
Act as liaison between governing boards and committees, medical staff, clinical staff, case management and department heads, and integrates the activities of all departments into a smooth-functioning service line.
Establishes systems to maintain compliance with accreditations and specialty accreditations that separate Walton from our competition in rehabilitative health care.
In coordination with Marketing and Referral Development, develops a marketing strategy Therapy Services, coordinates marketing campaigns, materials and products for the service line, assists with market research and analysis of regional demographics, and prepares and conducts focus groups, presentations, and public awareness activities to appropriate groups.
Responsible for professional development of the Therapy teams across the continuum and linkages to non-Walton resources to assist in meeting outcome expectations. Establishes internal education sessions for staff that is state of the art, dynamic, and focused on future program development. Leads treatment teams to identify and implement new treatment techniques.
Assists in physician development and maintenance of physician distinction as rehabilitation experts. Facilitate physician presentations and in-services in the community, hospitals, and professional conferences.
Facilitates and coordinates community educational programs and community awareness activities. Prepares presentations of interest pertaining to Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation to community groups, organizations, and referral sources.
Develops new programs and services including preventative programs and wellness programs. Coordinates program development, growth, and evaluation and referral development with physician leadership. Identifies state of the art equipment and facility needs and justifies need and timeline for acquisition.
Fosters theoretically motivated rehabilitation research focused on issues relevant to Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Improves the quality of patient care by integrating research into ongoing clinical activities and involving treatment staff in clinical research. Establishes education and training programs that foster the philosophy and methods of effective rehabilitation research. Shares research results with the community through scientific presentations at appropriate conferences, collaborations with other research institutions and publications in professional journals.
Fiscally responsible for cost centers with attention focused on referral development, referral/admission rate, payer mix, customer satisfaction, outcome/cost performance, and resulting margin. |
