Walton Rehabilitation Hospital has been accredited for a period of three years for its Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs and for its Brain Injury Specialty program in Inpatient, Outpatient and Residential Programs. The latest accreditation is the 7th consecutive Three-Year Accreditation that the international accrediting body has awarded to Walton.

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization's substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable.

Walton is a nonprofit organization in Augusta, Georgia. It has been providing rehabilitation services in the CSRA since 1988.

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.

When the service or program you choose is CARF-accredited, it means your provider has passed an in-depth review of its services. It is your assurance that the provider meets rigorous CARF guidelines for service and quality -- a qualified endorsement that your provider conforms to nationally and internationally recognized service standards and is focused on delivering the most favorable results for you.

A provider may earn accreditation for its programs or services after demonstrating it substantially conforms to CARF standards. To determine this conformance, a team of professional CARF surveyors personally visits the provider, generally for two to three days, to interview people, review documents, and observe services. The surveyors also provide consultation to enhance the provider's standards conformance.
